DIY: Make Dry Erase Boards for under $3

DIY Cheap & Easy Dry Erase Board

If you’re looking for good, cheap dry erase boards, look no further. I discovered these acrylic coated boards at Home Depot — they aren’t classified as “dry erase boards” but work exactly like one! These boards are sturdy, writes & erases cleanly, and can be custom sized. Best of all, they’re a fraction of the price of a store-bought dry erase board.

These acrylic coated boards cost me $13.38/board and come in 32 square ft (8ft x 4 ft) sheets. Home Depot will cut them into any size you need so you can make multiple dry erase boards. With just 1 sheet, I made 6 whiteboards: four 24″ x 36″ boards + two 24″ x 24″ boards! That’s less than $3 per board!

Just in case the link above doesn’t work, here’s information on the white acrylic boards:
• Thrifty White 32 sq. ft. Hardboard Panel Board (roughly 1/7″ thick)
• Model # 709106
• Home Depot Store SKU # 346428
• $13.38 / each
